Entirely independent, we do not sell property – focusing exclusively on the acquisition of incredible property on behalf of our clients’. Our approach is built on long-standing, trusted relationships, guiding clients’ from understanding their objectives and sourcing and assessing opportunities to securing property on the best possible terms.

We act for private and institutional clients’ from the UK and overseas. We are well versed in guiding international buyers, not only through the acquisition process, but through the transition into ownership and, in many cases, providing ongoing consultancy for the long term.

RAN MORGAN
MRICS
Since establishing RMC in 2019, Ran has acquired more UK land than any other agent in the industry; a track record that spans many asset types across rural, residential and energy sectors.
Brought up in a farming family, Ran started his career in property in 1999.
He has worked with many of the best in the industry across the UK from the Cotswolds to Scotland.
DOUGLAS SPENCER-NAIRN
MRICS
Douglas has over 17 years of experience in the rural, residential, and commercial property sectors. Based in Edinburgh, he specialises in property acquisition and consultancy, offering expert guidance to domestic and international clients.
Douglas began his career in 2008, joining Savills after earning a degree in land management. He later spent a decade in London, working with Chestertons and Knight Frank, where he conducted professional valuations for lending, development, and investment purposes. His experience spans both urban and rural markets, including valuations of some of the highest-value properties in the UK.
Since returning to Scotland and joining Ran Morgan Consultancy in 2021, Douglas has continued to provide strategic advice on private acquisitions and investments. His deep understanding of property markets, combined with his extensive experience from the north of Scotland to the south of England, makes him a trusted adviser in the industry.
ALASTAIR GEMMELL
MRICS
Alastair has developed a wealth of experience through a career spanning over 20 years. His ability to listen and understand his clients’ requirements, appraise complex properties and negotiate the best possible terms can be traced back to his previous experience in the sale and management of rural properties for private and institutional clients’, alongside running the Savills office in Perth.
This wide experience in both transactional and management work has given Alastair an almost unrivalled knowledge of rural property; an invaluable benefit to his clients’ when it comes to developing a real grasp of the opportunities and challenges that any particular property may offer. Known for his candid advice, diplomacy, and effective negotiations, the loyal client base that Alastair has retained throughout his career is testament to his ability, making him highly sought after by those looking for guidance and seeking an advantage in the rural market.
Alastair is passionate about the countryside and all that it can offer, running the family farm in Perthshire and spending much of his precious spare time in the Scottish Highlands and the Western Isles.
KATY KENNEDY
Katy has worked in the property industry for the last 12 years in both the rural and city sectors. Her career began in Edinburgh where she first worked with Ran Morgan at Knight Frank, supporting the sales and purchases of country houses, estates and islands. In 2013 Katy moved to London and worked on high value new build sales along the Thames and then selling best in class properties in Richmond and Barnes. Katy’s experience took her back to Edinburgh where she latterly headed up the North of Edinburgh sales team as an Associate Partner at Knight Frank.
At RMC, Katy now focusses solely on the search and acquisition of Edinburgh property for a select number of clients. Her knowledge of the city is next to none and she is always up to speed with what is happening in the market. Katy has built relationships over the last decade with many agents across the city and her honest and considered approach is greatly valued and appreciated by clients and industry professionals. Katy is a strong negotiator and incredibly proactive. Her previous experience as a sales agent means she knows how to effectively manage a transaction and make it as smooth as possible for all involved.
Katy lives in Blackhall with her husband and two boys. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, especially running, and exploring Edinburgh’s newest restaurants.
ALEX CARAFFI
Alex has spent his entire career providing strategic farm & estate business advice and management expertise to a loyal and growing client base. He has been advising RMC clients since 2019 and previously spent 10 years as a director of Andersons Farm Business Consultants across Scotland and the North of England.
He works with clients who are enthusiastic about the multitude of opportunities that exist within the land-based sector, with a focus on the long term. Widely regarded for his effectiveness, he ensures success through a clear base understanding of his clients’ core objectives, to create outcomes that deliver those objectives while ensuring maximised efficiency of resource use and financial feasibility.
His work has been delivered throughout the UK, from Wiltshire to Scotland, across both small and large land holdings at all ends of the production scale. Alex has a track record in providing integrated, sustainable estate and farm management solutions, combining agriculture, natural capital and diversified income such as farm shops, hospitality and renewable energy.
